Undercover as a Muslim Woman, Nov 22

Unveiling the veil

The Muslim Women of Maryland, the Nyumburu Cultural Center, SOUL, and Community Roots invite female students on campus to try wearing a headscarf for the day! This event is aimed at dispelling misunderstanding on campus about what the headscarf that Muslim women wear represents physically and spiritually.

All students are invited to attend a dinner that night to share their experiences, enjoy some entertainment, and watch some presentations that shed light on this very personal choice many Muslim women make.

You can sign up to wear the scarf, or to learn more about the event, at our website or the facebook event.

When: Tuesday, November 22, 6:00pm until 9:00pm

Where: The Stamp (Adele H. Stamp Student Union) Atrium, UMD
