Harvard Living Wage Movie and Panel, Sept 21

The Black Male Initiative and Chi Iota Pi will feature the film Occupation: The Harvard Living Wage Campaign, a short documentary that chronicles the intense bad-assery of the first college living wage campaign, which included a several week sit-in from inside the  university president’s office.

It will be followed by a panel of student and alumni activists fighting for workplace justice at UMD.  They will lead a discussion on the parallels between the film and the UMD workers’ rights campaign, as well as ideas on what we can do to stop the abuse and reprisals occurring on campus.  Visit JusticeatMaryland.com for more info.

When: Wednesday, September 21st, 7:00pm

Where: Nyumburu Cultural Center, UMD
